Precision Electronic Medical Diagnostics

PEMDx are developing a low-cost, disposable, continuous respiratory monitor. A change in respiratory rate is the earliest indicator of patient respiratory decline and hypoxia, yet the current standard-of-care for respiratory monitoring relies on intermittent nursing observations of breathing. This leaves patients vulnerable to unnoticed deterioration leading to injury and ICU transfer, ultimately risking the patients long term health and costing $32k - $43k per stay.

Dylan Rowe

Co-Founder / Electrical Engineer

Dylan is a co-founder of PEMDx and holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Hons), and a technical trade as an Avionics Maintenance Engineer. He has over 10 years of technical experience across military, aerospace, electronics, and medical devices. Dylan takes the lead role in device design and development, regulatory strategy, commercialisation, and business development.

Dr Mariam Rowe

BSc, MD

Co-Founder / Medical Advisor

Mariam is a co-founder of PEMDx and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a Doctor of Medicine. Mariam is a practicing doctor in Brisbane with a surgical interest and provides medical guidance on the use of our device in the hospital environments, while also taking a lead role in the clinical studies and device testing.

Dr Phillip Melksham

BEng (Hons), MBBS, FANZCA

Co-Founder / Anaesthesiologist / Biomedical Engineer

Phil is a co-founder of PEMDx and a specialist anaesthesiologist (FANZCA) with 30 years of medical experience. Previously, Phil graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and worked as a biomedical engineer developing medical devices for Cook Australia, before going on to complete his medical degree (MBBS). He is passionate about applying engineering solutions to problems faced in clinical practice. Phil holds a key position in PEMDx for both clinical and engineering advice and is heavily involved in all aspects of the technology and business development.
